Expect a fiercer, livelier and more
exciting PBA games as new and veteran players teamed up for the newly named
team … San Mig Coffee Mixers formerly the B-Meg Llamados which just recently
presented to the media at One Esplanade in Pasay City.
Headed by their coach Tim Cone, the
members of the team literally run their way on the stage as their names are
being called one by one ... as their supporters and friends cheered for them.
San Miguel Pure Foods Company President Francisco S.
Alejo III announced the change in team name to members of the press and fans
yesterday, in lively launch at the 1Esplanade in Pasay City. He also issued his
marching orders for the team.
This is one way for the San Mig Coffee officers will
be able to reach their target consumers and make the brand known since they
know that many Filipinos love the sports of basketball. And as they want to be
the number one team in the PBA league, they also want to make San Mig Coffee to
be the number one coffee brand in our country.
Part of the team include Marc Pingris, Peter Jun
Simon, James Yap, Jonas Villanueva, Rafi Reavis, JC Intal, Mark Barroca, Chris
Pacana, Ken Bono, Joe De Vance, Mike Burtscher, Wesley Gonzales and Yancy de
Ocampo. Playing in their first season are rookies Jewel Ponferrada, Gian Chu
and Aldrech Ramos.
Assisting Cone at the bench are Richard del Rosario,
Koy Banal, Johnny Abarrientos, Jeffrey Cariaso and Mon Jose. Four-time MVP
Alvin Patrimonio serves as team manager.
The team franchise won the championships in the 1990
Third Conference, 1991 All-Filipino, 1993 All-Filipino, 1994 Commissioner's
Cup, 1997 All-Filipino, 2002 Governors Cup, 2006 Philippine Cup, 2009-2010
Philippine Cup and just recently the “2012 Commissioner's Cup”.
With their vision to continue their winning
tradition, San Miguel Coffee Mix has acquired top rookie players of the league aside
from the stalwart players who are already in their roster. With this, San
Miguel Coffee Mix team will surely battle it out on the court in the PBA as it
opens on September 30 for its 38th season.
